Oldham County High School, ECET2; ECET2KY; Hope Street Group
I'm excited about creating opportunities for educators to connect, collaborate, and lead – it's why I'm part of the Redesign Challenge. I'm in my 12th year as a Spanish teacher and teacher leader at Oldham County High School near Louisville, KY. I am also completing my second year as a Hope Street Group Kentucky State Fellow. My passion for teaching, learning and reflection is one of the reasons I became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2013. Similarly, to deepen my understanding of Hispanic culture, I took a sabbatical in 2009 to teach in a small town in Guatemala. When I'm not in school, spending time with my family and friends or drumming, I enjoy working with colleagues as a Virtual Community organizer for the Center for Teaching Quality or as part of the Teacher Advisory Council for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
