Idea for

How might we enrich video with other resources or experiences so that it better supports your practice?

In Stage 1, we heard that watching a video by itself isn’t often helpful.

Watch utube videos from the writer's of the standards!

Why not watch videos from the writers of the standards. Implement a strategy or tool they speak about in your classroom and then get back together with colleagues to show evidence. For example watch one of the writers talk about complex text, use complex text in your classroom and bring back evidence to discuss your findings:)

Thanks so much for jumping in Erin and welcome to RDC. Tell me more about your idea. Are we only hearing from the authors of the standards? Would this involve watching other teachers teach? I love how there is collaboration and gathering evidence involved in your idea. Is there something that you can add that would possibly add another layer. Thanks again!

I think the videos should come directly from the writers of the standards. The writers have so much to offer to teachers. Then once the strategy is implemented in the classrooms how awesome would it be to send the evidence to the writers to see if its exemplar or use tools from SAP (Student Achievement Partners) like the IPG(Instructional Practice Guides) that help guide best practices in instruction.
