Idea for

How might we enrich video with other resources or experiences so that it better supports your practice?

In Stage 1, we heard that watching a video by itself isn’t often helpful.

WTF (Why Teach Failure?)

When was the last time you shared something that didn't work out quite as you'd hoped? For me that was a couple weeks ago. When we share learning we should be as out there with mistakes and near misses as we are with positives.

Potential Impact

At EdCampWestTexas some educators were talking about how we share. What if we were open with lessons and activities that didn't go as planned? That way educators interested in trying the thing out know to try it a different wAy or move on to something more promising.

Possible Implementation

Model sharing misses as well as wins. At professional development events talk about it. I got the gist of the idea reading about a CUE Rocskstar La Jolla session. People are talking about it. We should be authentic and give it a try.

I agree with you, Urbie. Learning from failure is difficult but something we need to embrace. What do you envision? A location where teachers can submit videos?
