Idea for

How might we enrich video with other resources or experiences so that it better supports your practice?

In Stage 1, we heard that watching a video by itself isn’t often helpful.

Twitter Chats

Post a video every month around a certain classroom practice, questioning techniques, collaboration, etc allowing plenty of time for educators to watch the video. (The video should be more of a clip, nothing too long) It could even be an motivational video or TED Talk. Despite the subject matter teachers could get together and discuss the video around some guided questions to generate ideas and thoughts from their experience. Some might even share their own strategies that relate to the video. #VideoCollab

Potential Impact

Providing a space and platform to debrief is so important, because teachers are continuing the conversation and building off of one another's thoughts and ideas.

Possible Implementation

I would take a Twitter survey on PD people are most interested. From there videos could be found around the chosen topics. They would then be posted and chatted about through a Twitter Chat forum.

Hi Sam! I love the idea of this type of engaging discussion with peers! What do you see these educators doing with the ideas that they create? Could video be used to take their ideas and deepen the discussion amongst all colleagues? Thank you for sharing!

I think it would be great to have follow up sessions to see if anything came to be after the discussions. Were their changes made in classrooms? What went well? What did not go well? I think video could definitely deepen discussion, educators just have to be brave enough to put themselves out there for all to see. Vulnerability is hard.
