In Stage 1, we heard that watching a video by itself isn’t often helpful.
I belong to the eLearning Guild and and ATD: professional organizations for instructional designers. I have benefitted greatly through my association with K-12 educators. My idea is to encourage teachers to partner with the Guild and local ATD chapter. Interested members could then team with teachers to design engaging vieos that teachers can use to grow their technical knowledge in tools and processes.
I know a lot more and am able to adapt much of what I learn from EdCamp, CUE, and TCEA in my instructional design work. The potential impact to this is teachers and designers PLNs would grow to include more diverse ways of knowing for both populations.
1. Contact the eLearning Guild membership services office and ask about partnerships. With ATD locate and identify the nearest local chapter. Ask their leadership about partnerships. 2. Match interested Guild and ATD members with teachers. 3. Stand back and watch what happens.
