Enter to Respect, not Inspect

Teachers are always subjected to classroom visits and many times each it is an evaluation it could mean a lot of pressure. What if teachers allowed themselves to be video in class and the purpose is to respect their craft. These classroom videos will be shared with teachers who are a part of the program. The only feedback comes in the form of: I Like, I Wish, I Wonder... This keeps the feedback positive and highlights the great things the teacher is doing in class. Then second layer would be a minute to minute report of what you are seeing in the class. 8:05 students reading silently, 8:06 teacher asks question and gives no wait time, 8:10 students are writing. The feedback teacher is not allowed to judge only report. This is then submitted back to the teacher and then he/she can use the feedback and report to improve and grow their practice.

Potential Impact

It can do two things reinforce the things that teachers are doing well and give teachers a chance to see how every minute of their class time is being utilized.

Possible Implementation

The Idea could start by connecting teachers from different schools that want to improve their teaching. They have to submit one video a month and be willing to give feedback once a month. Give one - Get One.
